<p>
        You commented <strong>YC</strong>, so here are the links. Y Combinator's
        internship page for Summer 2027 is live, and YC startups are already
        posting intern roles. I checked every link below on 24 September 2026.
      </p>

      <div class="highlight">
        <p style="margin-bottom: 0">
          <strong>Read this first:</strong> YC companies don't hire on one shared
          calendar, and most of the roles I found are in the US. Check the
          location and visa details on every listing before you apply. If you
          need something in India this month, jump to
          <a href="#india">section 5</a>.

        "Internships at Y Combinator Companies, Summer 2027." YC's own page for
        student internships at its startups, with founder talks and a student
        community on top. Read the eligibility section before anything else,
        especially if you'd need a visa.

        138 YC internship roles when I checked, 58 of them added that week. They
        list paid internships only. Their FAQ says YC companies don't share a
        recruiting calendar, so new roles show up all year, not in one batch.

          700+ roles, including AI Engineer Intern listings, mostly in Bengaluru.

      <p>
        For context: only 5.9% of Indian tech job postings are entry level
        (<a href="https://www.prepnplaced.com/india-tech-hiring-report-2026">PrepNPlaced, 2026</a>).
        A startup internship is one of the few ways to skip that queue.
      </p>

      <h2>How I'd apply</h2>
      <ol>
        <li>
          <strong>Lead with two shipped projects.</strong> A live link, a GitHub
          repo with a README that explains the architecture, and one line on what
          you'd build next.
        </li>
        <li>
          <strong>Write like a founder, not an HR form.</strong> Four lines: what
          you built, why this company, what you'd take off their plate. Skip the
          cover letter essay.
        </li>
        <li>
          <strong>Apply early and keep checking.</strong> Roles open all year,
          and small teams often hire the first good person who applies.
        </li>
        <li>
          <strong>Let a tool filter for you.</strong>
          <a href="/blog/career-ops-open-source-ai-job-search">career-ops</a> scores
          each listing against your CV, so you only spend time on the roles that
          fit.
        </li>
      </ol>
