760 Companies That Hire Without LeetCode in 2027

Published September 2026 · avivashishta.com

You commented hire, so here are all 760 companies, with a link to each one's careers page and how they actually interview. None of them lead with LeetCode puzzles or whiteboard algorithms. Instead you get take-home projects, pair programming on real code, and conversations about work you've done. The list comes from Hiring Without Whiteboards, a GitHub repo where engineers add the process they went through. I checked every GitHub-hosted link on 29 September 2026 and dropped the dead ones. Processes change, so if a company has gone back to puzzles, tell me and I'll update it.

The short version: 760 companies, 248 of them hiring remote and 46 in India. Most interview with a take-home or a pairing session on a problem close to the real job. You don't need 500 LeetCode problems. You need one good project you can talk about for an hour.

The repo

poteto/hiring-without-whiteboards ~52K ★

A community-maintained list of companies (and teams) that don't do whiteboard or puzzle interviews. MIT licensed, free forever, and each entry describes the interview process.

The 4 I'd apply to first if you're in India

  1. Razorpay (Bangalore). A phone screen, then pair programming on-site, occasionally a take-home.
  2. Zerodha (Bengaluru). One technical call and one take-home programming task.
  3. BrowserStack (Mumbai). A phone screen, then two 2-hour assignments on problems the company has actually solved, with the internet allowed.
  4. Atlan (New Delhi). A mini project you get 8 days for, a discussion with the team, then a call with a founder.

How to prepare for a take-home

  1. Read the brief twice and ask one clarifying question. It shows you think before you build.
  2. Ship it with a README, tests and a live link. Reviewers open the README first.
  3. Be ready to explain every decision you made. The follow-up discussion is usually the real interview.
